Oreo revealed its latest flavor yesterday in New York.  Behold, the Filled Cupcake Oreo:

I’ll spare you a lengthy post today.  Instead, I’m sharing my first impressions of this flavor, without actually having tried it.   (I’m the general public and it’s not available to the general public until February 8th).

  • I was puzzled by the photo, wondering how a real oreo could actually be in the shape of a cupcake, until I realized the cupcake was just for show and there was an actual filled cupcake oreo at the bottom.
  • Twist and lick?  Surely I’m not the only one that twists, eats the cookie with the filling on it, then eats the other cookie instead….right?
  • How many new flavors of oreos do we need?  (“Plain” Mega Stuff is fine by me!)
  • On the other hand, I don’t get cupcakes very often, and chocolate with a little bit of vanilla for contrast sounds intriguing.

Now I’m hungry.

  1. You asked how many flavors of Oreo we need…

Well, to your list you forgot to add the Fudge-covered Oreos (we need more of this)… and mint oreos (who doesn’t love chocolate and mint!?)

I’m sure there are others – Oreos are classic.

    • Well, come to think of it, fudge-covered and mint Oreos sound delicious. I’m about to dunk a whole selection of foods in chocolate for photographs; oreos is definitely on the list. And bacon.
